Ron & Amanda – a “Scottish” Super 8 Film

From NC, to London, to Australia and back again. And so glad they invited us along for the last leg of the ride. :)

Amanda and Ron live in Perth, Australia but wanted to celebrate with friends and family near Amanda’s hometown and feel the Atlantic ocean spray on their face for their wedding day. Amanda mentioned to us that although our work isn’t typical and is very engaging, she didn’t want a normal wedding video. In fact, she enjoyed watching her parents Super 8 wedding video growing up so much, that she wanted to feel the same nostalgia for her own wedding film. As one of the few in NC who offer vintage Super 8mm, we obliged.

So much character for this wedding. If you ever run into Ron’s friends (the groomsmen) on the street, ask them to tell you about the bachelor party adventure(s). And if you run into Amanda on the street, you’ll have to let her fill you in on the rest of Ron’s toast to her (in the film). We cut it off after he says she inquired about “what was up” the kilt….one of the best toast bloopers ever. :)

Mary Elizabeth and Gabe, along with their families, put together the best ingredients Wilmington had to offer, to create a quintessential, southern event people will be talking about for years. But even more importantly, after hearing their story through the perspective of their friends and family’s toasts, it’s evident that Mary Elizabeth and Gabe are the perfect fit, and will be falling for each other more and more as the years go on.

Arguably one of our most favorite weddings, this day had all the elements for an amazing celebration. You can check out the all-star vendors below, but having a surprise gospel choir perform during the ceremony, an epic first look on the waterway, desserts fit for a heavenly banquet, and one of the best party bands in the country…made for one of the best weddings any one present has experienced.

It also helps to have AMAZING coordination (thanks Courtney and Jen!) and of course a bride and groom that are excited about each other on their wedding day and never take their eyes off one another.

Needless to say, we love how this film turned out because it was so easy to capture the unalterated emotions from this day.

Trey & Joann – Wedding Highlights

St. Mary Parish is the most beautiful venue for a wedding in Wilmington, NC. Very reminiscent of Italian Catholic Churches. Trey and Joann made a great choice. So many fun moments from this day captured. Not sure a couple could ask for a better downtown Wilmington day with gorgeous Spring weather. We captured a hilarious moment downtown with a harmonica player, and Matt McGraw took some amazing photos of that moment. But what really stood out from the fun moments of the day aside from the family and friends hilarity on the dance floor, or the limo ride through town, was the genuine toasts given. We LOVED Trey’s dad’s toast as the best man. We included a little bit of it in this highlights film, but he took all the guests back to a very sentimental moment from Trey’s birth, and passed along a new illustration of that for Trey & Joann’s new life together. This day wouldn’t have been complete without the amazing talent of Brian Carpenter, from Toronto, Canada based Studio 67. Brian has been a friend of mine for a while in the video community, and he flew down to help us out with Trey & Joann’s day. Him and Melissa rocked it out, and captured some heartfelt and cinematic moments. We appreciate him helping make Trey & Joann’s day seamless!

Trey & Joann, please enjoy this keepsake from your wedding. And we hope you still have those stylish glasses Joann! Thanks so much for inviting us to your wedding and trusting us with these moments.
